    RAINE ANDYR
"I smell booms..." ~ Raine Andyr, remarking to Matthias Jayne during the Cassus Belli tank offensive
Raine Andyr is a female human Force-clone, created by the Sith Lord Muriel Kestra Y'ar after the unfortunate, accidental death of a young Naboo Jedi knight and survivor of Order 66. Through the use of Force and Sith alchemies, Raine was cloned with the inherited memories of the woman whose DNA formed most of her genetic make-up: Serena Andyr-Elysar.

    BIOGRAPHY
Cloned on board the ISD Mark II, the Omega by the hand of the Sith Lord, Muriel Y'ar, Raine Andyr had not known any other existence beyond that which the Omega had to offer. Guided by a Sith Lord's beckon call, she had always believed her destiny to be dictated by others. Her accelerated growth brought about a sudden 'release' from her environment's sterile confines - and thus allowed to seek all the answers to her destiny, Raine left the isolation and safety of the Omega to find the truth of her innate origins.

    Early Life
Once she was acclimatized to her life on the ISD Omega, Raine began her education and training under the watchful eye of her creator, Muriel Kestra Y'ar. With her accelerated growth, she emerged out of the cloning pod at 14, with all the memories of her predecessor's Force training fully intact. These certainly helped advance and navigate her path as a Force adept, fulfilling and even surpassing Muriel's hopes for her student. Curious to see what path her protege would eventually take, Muriel allowed a 'natural' progress of Raine's skills and allowed the young girl to pursue whatever interested her. In the end, Raine chose to follow the Jedi path as Serena's genetic memories became more ingrained with every passing day.

Muriel did not begrudge Raine her choice of path and continued to mentor the girl, encouraging Raine to expand her knowledge of the galaxy - namely its history, Cultures, alien Species and other scholarly pursuits. Showing some aptitude with droids and computers, Raine learned how to repair and program these with a firm understanding of their workings, although she would never regard them as anything more than tools which greatly appealed to her pragmatic personality. Her predecessor, Serena, passed away leaving behind two pets: a Spukamas named 'Rudi' and a mongrel dog named 'Brats'. Raine took to both with great zeal, although only the cat seemed to tolerate her presence for months to come.

It should be mentioned that Muriel did not disclose to Raine the truth of the clone's origins; instead, she fed her a story of how Raine was found unconscious, in some dark alley on Nar Shaddaa - her parents both victims of a brutal robbery which left them dead, and Raine - an orphan. She was henceforth looked after by Muriel and eventually adopted into the Sith Lord's peculiar little family.

Although Muriel did her best to hide her cloning 'experiment' from her father, Nereus Vorn eventually felt Raine's presence through the numinous web of the Living Force. Arriving unannounced on Muriel's vessel, he confronted his wayward daughter about her newest transgression. It was not that Muriel cloned herself a new 'toy', but that she used some of her own DNA to accelerate Raine's growth and power in The Force - without asking him. Muriel remained unrepentant and defiant, explaining the pragmatism behind the deed - she wanted Raine to grow into a Force adept that would equal or exceed her unfortunate predecessor - but Nereus Vorn wouldn't hear any of it and demanded that the clone be terminated at once.

Storming directly into Raine's quarters, Vorn attempted to kill the sleeping girl by running his lightsaber through her heart, but Muriel followed - managing to use telekinesis (with a rather limited line of sight), to shift Raine wide of the thrust - resulting in a deep wound sustained to Raine's left side/upper abdomen area. Before Vorn could take another stab at the frightened adolescent, Muriel rushed between her father and child, her own lightsaber drawn and a full array of Force powers at her command. The indomitable stance seemed to be enough (at least for the time being), to stop Nereus from resuming his assault.

Resolved to protect the new life at any cost, Muriel bargained with her father for Raine's life. He eventually relented but the price to pay was a heavy one: Vorn would in turn get to expand his own legacy by attempting to create a child of his own - using Raine as the vessel. Disgusted and heavy-hearted, Muriel agreed, troubled by how this event would affect a teenage clone. Yet, unbeknownst to Vorn, she had young Raine's tubes tied shortly after the girl's emergence from the cloning incubator. Raine could not, therefore, get pregnant - unless Vorn discovered the anomaly in time - but his thoughts dwelled only on his goal and not whether or not his chosen vessel had been tampered with.

After a brief introduction between the two, Muriel told Raine to listen to Vorn and do as he told her. Once the two were left alone, Vorn proceeded to seduce Raine, who - being young and ignorant, allowed Nereus to take her virginity. It wasn't until after the act that he told Raine who he was, which disgusted and shocked the young girl. Then, without further ado, Vorn would proceed to leave the ship, confident that he would soon be a father. Once his child was born, he could get rid of Raine once and for all - as she would have fulfilled her purpose and be of no further use to him. The moment her Father left, Muriel resolved to make further modification to her fleet's cloaking device, ensuring that Vorn could not come and go as he pleased from this point on.

    A Wookiee Vanishes
Although she was the near-perfect copy of Serena Andyr-Elysar, Raine did not understand most of the memories and visions she would have, involving her predecessor. She would have flashes of people's she had never met and hear voices of a woman whose sole interest seemed to lay in confusing Raine. Serena's thoughts and insight had little bearing on Raine's world and circumstances and only resulted in the young teenager becoming addicted to valium - a medication she started taking to silence the voices and visions in her troubled mind.

Unbeknownst to Raine, Serena's former cohorts (who formerly comprised the Enduring Hope Task Force), led largely independent lives after the Battle of Agomar - the event which witnessed Serena's untimely passing. One of Serena's closest friends, a Wookiee named Shorlofnik - decided not to settle anywhere but chose instead, to pursue the life of a mercenary on board his CEC Light Freighter, dubbed "Solaris". Whilst other survivors made their various new homes and hiding spots across Hutt Space, Shor opted to travel the galaxy whilst engaging in taking on demanding and often unsavory tasks which most veteran mercenaries would balk at.

One day while traversing an obscure section of the Mid Rim, Muriel's flagship intercepted an emergency call for help, which was traced back to the Solaris, via IFF signature. Knowing Shorlofnik but not especially motivated to look into the signal herself, Muriel delegated a small task force to investigate. Reporting back to Muriel, it was discovered that the derelict freighter 'Solaris' was completely adrift in Mid-rim space. Upon boarding the vessel, Muriel's men found it to be completely ransacked, and the Wookiee gone. Based on the external and internal damage sustained by the vessel, it was determined that the ship was assaulted by pirates, most likely the Vagaari. as there were several mashed remains of insects known as the Schostri, found plastered onto various consoles. Wherever he was taken, Shorlofnik did not go willingly - and a lack of his corpse suggested that the Wookiee was taken alive.

After receiving the report, Muriel made contact with Marius Shae and Corvus Arca Dalen, two Jedi whose last known whereabouts were confirmed to be Nar Shaddaa. After Agomar, Shae became a bounty hunter of some repute, while Corvus owned and operated a bar and lounge known as the 'Crimson Lights'. The two Jedi soon informed the other members of the Enduring Hope Task Force that Shorlofnik may have been kidnapped by a group of ruthless slavers - at which point the group resolved to find and rescue their friend by whatever means necessary. To this end, Davin enlisted Muriel's assistance - and the Sith Lord invited them all to convene on board the Omega - where she would finally introduce them to a specter from their past - a faithful, if not much younger, replica of their dearly departed friend, Serena Andyr-Elysar.

For her part, Raine was perplexed and initially overwhelmed by meeting so many people who seemed to know her better than she knew herself. But Muriel dispelled everyone's fantasies relatively quickly, introducing the girl by her proper name and later explaining to Davin who and what Raine was. Muriel's idea of assistance was to share the full findings of her investigation into Shorlofnik's disappearance and allowing them to conduct their own - by providing the group with the specific coordinates of the Solaris. Finally, the SIth Lord indicated that to help them in unraveling this mystery, The Force-clone known as Raine Andyr would go with the group. Not only would she be a great asset in terms of her acute Force abilities, but she would perfectly complement the group as an accomplished warrior, pilot and tracker.

Although somewhat skeptical and perturbed at first, Davin finally agreed to take Raine along on the mission. Raine's appearance and apparent young age would take time to get used to, but overall, the only person Davin was truly worried about was Marius Shae, Serena's closest confidante and the man who loved her. Only time would tell how The Force clone and the young Jedi knight would get on, but the Jedi master had faith in Shae's insight and maturity, believing that the younger man's wisdom would prevail. In the end, Kabak's hopes would prove to be correct. The rest of the former EH Task Force seemed to be more intrigued rather than unsettled by Raine's presence among them. Having said her farewells to the only mother she had ever known, Raine departed with Davin and the others, unlocking a new path on her life's journey. Unbeknownst to the young Jedi, the Wookiee's trail would lead them into the Unknown Regions where the group would find itself enveloped in a war that threatened the freedom of the free peoples of an undiscovered region of space known as the Albion Cluster.

    Arrival on the Orion
The clues picked up by both investigations led the heroes to Ilum, a remote planet in the Unknown Regions with minimal Imperial presence (since the Jedi purge). There, they came across a starport scuffle between an unknown Mandalorian warrior and several well-armed pirates. The heroes lent a hand to the Mandalorian, running off some of the thugs while wounding and/or killing others. After the skirmish, the Mandalorian, somewhat grateful for the group's assistance, reluctantly told them that she was looking for a bunch of Vagaari slavers that took hostage of one of her bounties. It seemed only natural, the group reasoned, that since they shared similar objectives, they should join forces. And so began their trek deeper into the Unknowns.

Their travels took them through Chiss space, who (although allowing the group to pass through their space unimpeded), did not agree to render any other assistance or give up any information that could have been helpful to the heroes' cause. Moving on, the group eventually arrived at a region of space known as the Albion sector, with its chief planet of Albion Prime. It was there that they first encountered the Rakata - an ancient and once powerful alien Species who wanted to enslave the Galaxy. As the Rakata were thought to be extinct, their presence baffled tand concerned he group. It did not take them long to realize that these Rakata's purpose was no different from the Builders that came long before: they were waging a war in this sector of space and behind them - as the heroes ultimately discovered - stood none other than Raine's 'grandfather', the nefarious Nereus Vorn.

Seeing the mayhem caused by the Rakata and troubled by the numbers of the lives already lost to this unforeseen conflict, the heroes jumped at the chance to help the Albionian war effort.

    The First Padawan
Raine came across an Iridonian, Xadao Tobu when she first encountered the Enduring Hope task force, courtesy of her maker - Muriel Y'ar. After befriending the young Zabrak, she offered to take him under her tutelage as a Padawan learner which Xadao readily accepted. The quickly became apparent that Xadao had innate talent for lightsaber combat - a penchant which Raine secretly delighted in as she steered him onto the path of a Jedi Warrior - a path she herself had chosen as a Jedi knight.

The Zabrak also showed a curious aptitude for reading his master's mind, especially in combat situations. They would often present themselves on the battlefield as one unit, almost perfectly attuned to each other's movements and tactics - without communicating whatsoever, whether verbally or telepathically. Xadao's agreeable nature, combined with battle prowess and astute thinking made him progress through his learning of the Jedi arts much faster than Raine or even Davin Kabak (Raine's mentor), had anticipated.

Having passed all his trials upon first attempt, Xadao had the title of Jedi knight conferred upon him by Master Kabak - and Raine, a title of Jedi master. After meditating on his future endeavors, Knight Tobu opted to choose his own path, taking his leave of the group and possibly returning to the Known Galaxy, intent on joining the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Jedi Order. He has not been heard from, since. Unbeknownst to most except perhaps Matthias Jayne and Rayhu Bahor, Xadao's former master secretly supported of her former apprentice's choice, trusting him to know what was best for him as a man - and as a Jedi.

    Chrysalis Campaign
Since their arrival in the Albion Cluster, Raine had pledged to support the efforts of the EH task force in the war raging there. As the group went, so did her nation - at least until her Padawan became a Jedi Knight. Her 'antics' humbled the Rakata far and wide, as she continued to wreak havoc in every encounter that brought her face to face with one of the Galaxy most ruthless and nefarious species. Outside of fighting the Rakata, Raine has also helped take out terrorist groups attempting to undermine the security of Albion Prime, from within.

Although Raine was quick to lead and formulate plans of action in martial situations, the rest of the group found her tactics precarious and erratic. To this end, only her best friend, Matthias Jayne seemed to follow her lead - as the two shared qualities of resolve and fortitude - always guided by valor and diligence. Muriel Y'ar had once fondly remarked that Raine would always go where others feared to tread - a rare quality shared by the Corellian Captain, her close friend, Marius Shae and his Mandalorian companion, Uriel Varde.

    PERSONALITY & TRAITS
"Bless the Architect and Her wisdom. Bless Her coming and Her going. May Her passage cleanse the Galaxy. May She pass into the Light of the Force..." ~ Raine's prayer, at the moment of the Celestial Yrvae's 'death'

Quietly forceful, sensitive, and original, Raine seeks out meaning in the connections between people, ideas, and things. She is curious to understand the motives of others and seems to have great insight into other people. Conscientious in nature and committed to a firm value system, she tends to stick to things until they are done. As a result, she is well respected for her perseverance in doing the right thing. Extremely intuitive about people, and concerned for their feelings, Raine possesses an innate, genuine interest in understanding and helping others. Likely to be individualistic, rather than leading or following, Raine tends to develop a clear vision about how to best serve the common good - being naturally assertive and accomplished in the myriad of ways in which she chooses to implement this vision.

    POWERS & ABILITIES
Early in her life, Raine Andyr was recognized as having enormous Force potential, mostly thanks to Muriel Y'ar's Force alchemy techniques and the transfer of her own midi-chlorians into the child. Once the Clone emerged from the cloning chamber, her creator instantly made Raine aware of her Force-sensitivity, and incessantly pushed her to seek training as a Force adept without seeking her young protege's commitment to either side of the Force for the time being.

Raine's sensitivity to the Force allowed her to become one of the most powerful and accomplished users of the art of lightsaber combat, even to the point of dispatching her adversaries with a single blow. Alongside her Force training, Raine also discovered she had an innate talent for flying and spent nearly two years training as a starfighter pilot - becoming quite accomplished in the craft at a very young age.

Although Raine initially refused to take up a lightsaber (as she was given lightsabers belonging to her predecessor), she eventually became an adept swordswoman once she understood the meaning of a lightsaber to a Jedi and was able to craft one on her own. Raine's first lightsaber was a simple weapon wrought in titanium alloy, and sported a vivid green blade. She named it 'Shamar', which meant 'Protector'.

Since Raine's creation involved infusion of memories belonging to a young Jedi whom she was made to resemble not only in appearance but also in personality and demeanor, Raine herself had to integrate them into her psyche once she was older. Up until then, she would always hear the voice of Serena Andyr Elysar in her head, which both confused and disturbed her. Once Raine understood that she was not schizophrenic or suffering from some other form of mental illness, she learned how to harness the voice in her head and use it to her advantage by drawing on Serena's advice and insight in time of great consternation.

Upon training her first padawan to Knighthood and becoming a Jedi master in her own right, Raine continued to pursue her Force studies - this time embracing her dark side heritage (as a descendant of Freedon Nadd through her 'mother' Muriel Y'ar and her father, Nereus Vorn. Believing that light side of the Force alone could not stop her grandfather's malevolent ways, Raine resolved to fight fire with fire by enlisting the assistance of Vorn's wayward apprentice, Darth Maledictus. The latter would impart to Raine whatever dark side knowledge she desired, bringing the young woman dangerously close to a path most Jedi feared to tread - but one which Raine seemed to master with commanding authority. Only time would tell what kind of consequences such learning would wreak on the self-possessed Jedi as she embraces her uncertain destiny and tenebrous heritage.
