CUSTOM MSE-6 MOUSE DROID "GORDO"

NPC CUSTOM MSE-6 MOUSE DROID "GORDO"

Custom Built MSE-6 Mouse Droid "Gordo"

Gordo is a custom-built Mouse Droid similar in styling to the Rabaxan Columni MSE-6 mouse droid. While Gordo is in roughly the same size category, and arguably the same shape type, albiet larger and more angular, that is where most of the similarities end.

Gordo was built personally by Davin in order to perform a mission to obtain records from the Bank of Coruscant`s central executive building. These records would be used to clear the name of his friend from being convicted of a crime she did not commit. The crime would have carried a potential life sentence, so Davin set to work investigating the crime. He discovered evidence that could clear her, but he would need proof, and that proof resided in the Bank of Coruscant. After refusing his official requests to subpoena the information, Davin decided to get the information directly from their computer systems. For this mission, he determined he`d need to build an infiltration droid with a host of unique abilities.

Rummaging around in garbage compactors near major droid manufacturing plants for quite some time, Davin was able to gather pieces he would need from a multitude of different droids. Once he had the parts he needed for the droid, he then needed to find a brain. Through careful investigation, and a favor or two owed him within the underworld, Davin learned the location of an Imperial Intelligence safehouse in the lower levels of Coruscant. This safehouse also had a stockpile of equipment, including an extremely rare and precious item. A prototype of the MerenData B2-X Positronic Processor.

The pinnacle of Imperial Research & Design, the B2-X is nearly as sophisticated as the human brain, and was built specifically for the purpose of slicing into computer systems, and reprogramming them at the most basic level, at lightning speed. The speed and agility of the positronic processor allows it to manipulate, redirect, and even brute force any non-positronic device with extreme ease, making most computers incapable of withstanding the droid's attempts to access the desired system. The droid brain`s heuristic processes are second to none, and it can learn from experience as well as from programming. The B2-X Positronic Processor cannot be fully wiped, and therefore the droid usually beings to develop permanent personality quirks. The droid also has a very stubborn, willful nature. It is capable of ignoring direct commands from sentient beings, and is notorious for `noodling` around in computer systems aimlessly for hours, without any coherent reason whatsoever. These shortcomings made the B2-X ultimately unsuitable to the military intelligence role it was originally designed for, and the project was abandoned. Davin saw potential in the processor`s nature, and found it suited the purpose he had in mind. He realized that the properties of the brain also meant that any skill the B2-X has fully acquired through experience, or through a skill module, is permanently integrated into the positronic matrix, and no longer requires the skill module to be installed in order to use that skill. The assimilation process takes some time, since the B2-X must make sure that the skill`s programming will integrate into the current program without causing any system malfunctions. Great care must be taken when teaching or allowing the processor to assimilate new programming, since once it is integrated, only Gordo himself can purge it and it must be done willingly. [In game terms, the droid learns skills via the same system as normal characters. Skill Modules may act as a `teacher`, but must be purchased pre-programmed or a blank one written through the Droid Programming skill.] Despite the potential personality quirks, such a rare find was a stroke of luck for Davin, and gave him the chance he needed to save his friend from a life sentence in prison.

Gordo had been left in a semi-activated state within a storeroom of the Imperial safehouse, but without a body. He was also placed under several heavy objects to keep him from moving with the built-in 1" manipulator arm, by the safe house owner. The sadistic fellow left Gordo Without any connectivity to any device, little to no sensory input, and incapable of moving anywhere. Gordo`s programming began to form feedback loops that threatened to put him in a permanent state of psychosis under the extreme duress, when Davin found him. It took some time for Davin to halt the feedback loops and restore Gordo`s operational mental state, but was ultimately successful. Gordo has since come to see Davin as his savior from what could be considered the droid equivalent of Hell, and has an extreme sense of loyalty to him. He has even been observed at times overcoming his self-preservation routines, in order to come to Davin`s aid. Since the mission for which he was originally built, Gordo has accompanied Davin on many adventures and through many dangers. Davin considers the droid a loyal friend and trusty companion. Davin treats Gordo like any other Sentient being, unlike most people who openly discriminate against droids. This has only strengthened their bond, and is most likely the reason why Gordo follows Davin`s commands most of the time.

Gordo`s droid shell is composed of a hardened Impervium plasteel outer shell, and titanium alloy inner shell. All moving components are dry-lubricated and vacuum rated. His internal volume is roughly twice that of a standard MSE-6 droid. The front face contains a retracting set of sensor equipment, arranged in an almost face-like arrangement. The Positronic processor is capable of being removed from the droid brain if necessary, and has it`s own 1" manipulator arm, vocodor, and repulsor, and scomplink computer port. The outer ridge contains motion detection and other sensors, giving the droid a 360? field of view. In addition, the top panel opens, revealing a small sensor turret for close inspection, which can also deploy a detaching Blaster attachment stored inside. On either side of the main body, two cylindrical Ion Engines provide Gordo extreme bursts of speed, and combined with retracting magnetic rollers for an undercarriage, allow Gordo to operate in total vacuum and zero gravity. Two small manipulator arms are tucked away under either side of the droid, behind the Ion Engines, for interfacing with computers or other equipment. The combination of omnidirectional repulsors, ion drive engines, and deployed blaster attachment gives Gordo formidable defensive capabilities. He also has been known to use his reinforced body and even internal fusioncutting attachment as a melee weapon, during combat.
