As she entered the place and waved at Erasmus she could see his eyes wander. Perfect. She had been worried that being more "modestly" dressed would not have the desired effect. Clearly, she had not had to worry.

"Five by five mate. All good here."

Giving him a wink before coming closer. Casting a glance at the screen she noted what he was doing. Knowing immediately what it was she was looking at, even if she didn't know that particular program. When he swung his chair around and faced her she grabbed a free chair and sat down on it with her stomach against the back of it.

"Though I do have a bone to pick with you. Your identity-making skills, they need a tune-up Vato. I got in, but it took LaGuardia two glances at my resume and he found faults all over it. Could have gone bad. Luckily, most men don't like women crying. So I threw him a sob story about running from an abusive ex"

Wiggling her eyebrows playfully, like she was proud of her manipulative skills. Then she laughed and turned to look at the computer, saving what she saw while arching a brow and looking confused. Then she shook her head and chuckled.

"Damn, that is gibberish to me. How can you stand to look at that? Would give me a headache. Oh! Which reminds me."

Putting her hand in her pocket she found a list of names. It was the list her friend "Charles" or Ballard had asked for her to check up. Handing it to him she crossed her arms and rested them on the back of the chair before resting her chin on her arms.

"It's a list of names I have picked up at the Cybermachine. I need to know what kind of records we have on them, if any. I suspect them of being fangers, but I can't really know for sure. I know LaGuardia's name is on there as well, that's me be through, I need to know all we know about him if I am going to work there. "

Tristan Krauss, Ballard Braun, Ursula Bellefleur Krauss, Divia LeCriox, Matthew, LaGuardia

Catching her wink at him, Erasmus immediately became more nervous, coughing slightly and muttering his Catechisms in his head. It helped him regain a measure of control over his emotions and thoughts. He took a deep breath, and opened the eyes he didn't know he closed. He became somewhat concerned when she said her identity didn't pan out.

"What do you mean, he saw through it? I was pretty sure that it was airtight." Though normally he'd take at least a week to ensure an identity was sound. He only had a single night to work. "I stayed up all night working on that." He couldn't keep the displeasure from creeping into his voice.

When she looked at what he was working on, he just shrugged. "When I look at it, I don't see code, I see whatever the program is supposed to do, or what the website is supposed to look like." He then reached over for the list, then stopped just shy of snatching it. "May I?" He wanted to be extra polite to her.. she had smiled at him.

It was a special kind of satisfaction in seeing the man get all nervous by a single wink from her. As he closed his eyes she let her eyes wander over him, her persona slipping a for a moment as annoyance shined in her eyes.

Pathetic. There is no challenge in puppy love. All I have to do is press up against him and he will blow his load all over his own thighs...

He opened his eyes again and her mask of innocence was back on. As if she had no idea the effect she had on the man.

"The bar in San Diego, Noble Experiment. Their manager had changed jobs at the time listed in my resume. She was working in San Fransisco. Unlucky for us, LaGuardia knew the woman. So he called me out on it. But like I said, even fangers don't like women crying. And there is a good trick anyone should learn, how to cry on cue."

Suddenly her face changed, her eyes got teary and even her lower lip trembled. Salty drops started to fall from her cheeks, her breath coming in hitches. Then as soon as it had come, it was gone again. Laughter rolling like expensive pearls from her lips as she wiped her cheeks.

"One of my best tricks. After all, a girl need all the advantages she can get."

When he stopped reaching for the list and asked if he could have it, she nodded and grabbed his hand putting the piece of paper in it. Her eyes moving to the screen again, to make sure she got it all before smiling.

"It was meant for you lindo. And that is quite a skill you got there, maybe you will teach me someday?"

He stiffened his spine, and broke eye contact with Rubi. He was chastising himself for the feelings he had for her, and the Lust that was coursing through his mind. His soul felt dirty, and he knew he needed to pray for forgiveness. "Well, I couldn't foresee that problem. In any war, chance and happenstance can work for both sides. Luckily, you were able to persuade him with your on demand water works."

Hearing her interest in his program, his immediate response was to show her everything, but then he remembered how David had warned him about the whorish ways of Rubi, and how Lust was one of the Seven Deadly Sins. Keeping his gaze from her, he spoke about what he could of the project he was working on. "I'm creating a sniffer program to hunt through the Web for any information on Imogen Cybernetics and Victor LaGuardia. He's a relative newcomer to the enemy fold - as far as we can tell. Or he's just really good at hiding his identity. Hell, I don't even know if that is his real name. So I'm trying to track down as much information I can on the sucker head. Now I guess I'll look up these names too."

He looked at the list rather dubiously, wondering how much information he should share with her. "I'll also have to share whatever I find with David. You know this right?" He was still keeping his gaze from her. He needed to think with the right head...

"I guess you couldn't. Still, could have cost me my life, if he wasn't such a sappy fool. We can't take those kinds of risks, least of all now after loosing so many of our soldiers."

She could see it on him that he was trying to regain control of himself. It was almost amusing to watch. Like she could feel the sacrilegious venom come off him in waves.

There you go, lover. Give me a challenge.

When he moved on to talk about the program he was making she didn't have to fake her curiosity and interest. She liked computers and had always had a knack for them, coding had been an interest she had cultivated in the past few years. Rising from her seat she pulled it closer so she was sitting right next him looking at the screen.

"The bastard's got camera's wired all over the place. Do you think you could make a worm that I can place there? I am sure if you get it on a thumb drive for me I can wire it directly into his network."

She turned her head and smiled at him like the prospect of coming up with a plan with him exciting.

"We already know these fangers don't like keeping their birth names. We also know that just because he is a newcomer to this place, does not have to mean he is a newcomer of theirs. That is not the impression I got from him. He's got military training, he is well educated and he has the manners of an old-time gentleman. Make sure to cover Europe as well, his colours... I am thinking, Latin countries. Italy, Spain, Portugal... Also get the historical records, and try adding variations of his name. He goes by Victor now, but if we are thinking the Latin countries and old school, he might have a family name and doesn't want to let go of it. Just changed it a bit. Its human psychology, when picking new names for ourselves, we usually go for names with the same first letters."

When he mentioned he had to talk to David she looked at him confused and surprised. Blinking a few times and giving him a look like he was daft.

"Of course? Why wouldn't you?"

Shaking her head she turned back to look at the screen.

With his focus now on computers and algorithms, his 'other head' went back to sleep. He reached into a desk drawer and pulled out a thumb drive, slotting it into a USB port on the side of his primary monitor. He then went into his network of files and folders, and you could see one of the servers in the tower to the right lighting up as it was accessed. He pulled up what looked like some random gibberish, before packaging it all nice and neat into the thumb drive. He then pulled it out and turned to hand it to Rubi.

"This is a program of my own design, I call it Chimera. At least for this week. I haven't settled on a name for it yet. Just make your way to his security setup, slide it into a USB port, and a prompt should come up. It won't say anything, it'll just be a box that says 'Execute'. Click that button, it'll give a progress bar, and after about a minute, it should be installed. Once done, it'll hijack the camera feed and copy it to whatever remote host you want. You'll need to set that up before hand. There's a settings file on the drive where you can put your destination server into. It also copies to my server farm also in case you somehow lose the files. Now, it won't be real time, but it saves the data in fifteen minute blocks. So you can view each block in any media player after it saves to the server."

He looked up at her, realizing he had just rambled on for a bit. "Sorry." He turned back around to face the computer. "I've been trying to trace his....LaGuardia's movements back. I've got him back to Boston, but haven't found when he arrived there yet. I'll try to cross reference any names that come to Boston shortly before his arrival once I figure it out, and see if they drop off the map about the same time that Victor shows up."

His voice trailed off as he began working on his searches, going to vital records databases, whilst trying not to look at Rubi's reflection in the monitor.

It wasn't hard to see his focus shifting. Not that it mattered much, this was not going to be a quick con. But rather a long con. She had to appear to be one of them, a friend, someone he could talk openly to. So it wouldn't help if she flashed her tits and broke into Can Can right there. It might get her laid, unless he got so nervous his dick retracted like a turtle, but it wouldn't win her favours later.

He went on to explain the program he had made. Again she did not have to fake her interest in the topic, and instead soaked up all the information on the program that she could. Looking at the thumb drive she smirked and nodded.

"Chimera? Sounds more like an Oracle with the answer to everything."

Chuckling she put the drive in her pocket.

"It won't be easy to do it. But I am sure I can do it."

Again the conversation changed and she listened to what he had to say about LaGuardia. It made sense. From what she had seen of the man, he did not seem to be one to leave things up to chance. And that meant his traces as well.

"Sounds like you got a good handle on it. I will let you know if I learn anything about him that can help you. What about my list? Shouldn't be hard to for you to look up the information for me?"

Sending him one of her sweetest pretty please smiles she giggled.

He smiled... "Oracle, I like that. I think I'll use that for the name. Thank you Rubi." He gave her plenty of the pearly whites with that smile. He listened as she praised him for his work on tracking LaGuardia. "I'll do my best Rubi. And I'll start working on this list you gave me after lunch." He winced slightly at the thought of eating more MRE's, but it was either that or the vegan stuff the monks at the monastery ate, and Erasmus liked meat.

He started working again on his coding, this time pulling up a separate file. This one was a trojan program that was used to get into bank account files in order to trace financial transactions - and lop off the odd cent or two when no one was looking. It wasn't a dismissal per se, as he didn't want her to leave, but he was worried about making a fool of himself more than he already had.

Sending him a smile that could match his own she laughed. So now she had named a program for him as well. Seemed like she was slowly but surely making her way into his life.

"Let me know if you have other programs you need naming. I am pretty good at this"

Again she sent him a playful wink and watched as he turned and started to work again. After lunch. She could wait that long, but she still wanted to make sure she got the files before David could sift through them. She didn't doubt for a second that Erasmus would give her all the files, but David? He might keep parts away from her on spite, as much as make her mission more dangerous. After all, it would be the perfect solution for him if the vamps got her. He couldn't outright kill her, not unless he had proof, didn't matter how much he wanted to. Killing one of his own without proof. There would be chaos in his ranks.

"Lunch? Are they still doing the MRE's? I couldn't do that, I am craving a serious burger..."

Casting a playful look his way she smirked.

"How about I treat you to one as well? For being so sweet and helping me. I don't have many friends here in town, and I would like to keep the one I have."

Getting up on her feet she gestured for the door with a wide smile.

"There is a diner a bit down the road. I am going to go get us some proper food, I got nothing else to do today, and if I am lucky, maybe you will show me some more of those tech God skills of yours."

Before he could deny the offer of food she moved for the door and called out she would be right back with some proper food for them. It didn't take long to fetch the food. Two orders of cheese and bacon burgers, with fries and drinks. Soda for Erasmus, and a huge chocolate milkshake for her. She hadn't been gone more than half an hour or so when she entered the barn again holding the food up high so he could see.

"Let's feast like kings my friend!"

Erasmus smiled slightly and nodded. "Sure thing Rubi." He continued to work and when she mentioned a burger his stomach let out an audible growl. Knowing the game was up, he simply told her, "Sure.." as she offered to go get food. He watched her leave, taking the opportunity to eyeball her backside before quickly chastising himself for looking again.

He was busy running system maintenance when she returned, and he could smell the food before she even got close. Moving to a nearby table, he cleared it of a stack of portable HDD's and scanning equipment before pulling up two chairs for them. "Thanks Rubi, it smells and looks delicious." Once she sat the items down he pulled a chair back for her to sit in, and once she was sat, he'd sit down to her left. It wasn't much space, but at least he wasn't directly next to her. As they prepared to eat, he couldn't help himself, "This is gonna taste so good. You're a God send Rubi."

He'd wait for her to start eating before he did though. Good manners and all that...

As she came walking back inside she didn't bother to look at the computer. She didn't want to seem too interested in what he was doing. Instead, she focused on him preparing a table for them. Putting the food down she smiled when he helped her take a seat before she started to unpack from the bag. Putting the burger, chips and soda in front of him before finding her own. All the while wiggling and humming pleased, nothing wrong with a girl with a healthy view of food.

"I think David said something similar when I showed up. I guess it means we got God on our side."

Wanting to seem the part she reached over and took his hand before she said grace and let go again with a new smile.

"I hope I didn't go too wrong with the food. There is coke in that one for you."

She pointed at the soda before she dug into her chips. Chewing a few pieces she let him taste his food in silence before she began speaking again.

"So what's your story then Erasmus? I am pretty sure every hunter in the organization knows mine, so its only fair I know some of yours, yes?"

Erasmus took a big bite out of the burger and moaned in ecstasy. MRE's were nourishment, this was FOOD. He took another big bite and finally cleared his mouth to eat after half the burger was gone. "Would you believe I hacked into the Brotherhood's systems? That's how they find me. I was really big into conspiracy theories as a teenager. Spent my teens tracking down stories of UFO's, werewolves, vampires, and anything that was considered paranormal. I was a huge fan of the X-Files. Had a major crush on Gillian Anderson."

He sipped his Coke and took a bite of his fries. Once swallowed, he continued. "With the arrival of the internet and the Information Age, made my job that much easier. Not to mention security was a joke back then. It was then that I discovered a religious order that seemed to be dedicated to hunting vampires. So naturally I was intrigued. Decided to sneak in and listen to one of their meetings, but a weak floor caused me to be detected. When I came to, I had a bunch of them standing over me, deciding on what to do with me."

Taking a bite of his burger and then some more Coke, he went on. "I laughed at them. Told them their security was a joke, and anyone could read their entire history along with whatever else they decided to put onto a computer with a modem. Instead of killing me, it landed me this job." He held his hands up so they encompassed the entire room of computer equipment. "I joined their Inquisitors or whatever they call themselves and began tracking down vampires, and specifically this group Erebos. David's really got it in for them." He wiped his mouth. "Sorry, didn't mean to go on a tangent. Tell me more about you Rubi, and not just what's in your file. I read that already."

He blushed slightly, though you really couldn't tell. Those files were supposed to be private...

She took her time enjoying her food as she listened to him. Laughed at the right places and nodded to show she was following the story. Had she not been so obsessed with working an angle, maybe she could have honestly enjoyed the story. After all, it was kind of funny. Conspiracy nuts always were, and she didn't really have a problem picturing him buried in research about the paranormal.

"That is some story. I guess they saw the value in adding you to the ranks. Was this when David was in charge or before his time?"

Leaning over she took the milkshake and sipped it as he continued to talk. Taking note that it seemed David had a personal vendetta against Erebos, another good piece of information to hand over to LaGuardia. When he moved on to ask about her she paused a moment, mostly to hide her anger, but masked it as being in pain. Like the memory was enough to make her uncomfortable. Putting away the milkshake she turned and looked at him a moment before she began speaking.

"In any other cases, I might have scolded you for looking at private files, but then again my story is some of an urban legend around here. The hunter who was raised by vampires..."

Lifting her hand she brushed the burned mark in her neck, eyes glazing over a moment in deep thought before she came back and dropped her hand.

"I don't know what to say. I love engines, don't know if you saw my baby last time I was here, but I built her myself. I have a knack for computers as well, taking them apart, putting them back together that sort of thing. Electronics are like engines, easy. Which is why I am curious about your coding, its the part of computers I don't know."

Taking a fry she chewed it before she continued.

"I love food. There wasn't much proper food when I grew up... Vamps don't eat as we do. They gave me enough so that I would keep making blood for them, but nothing more than that. Which explains why I keep eating all the time, I am never going to go hungry again. And... I don't feel pain. Some blockage in my brain, the pain signals never reach my brain. So, I get hurt, a lot."

Rising from her seat she rolled up her sleeves and lifted her shirt before taking a spin. Showing him how her skin was riddled with lesser and bigger scars, like she didn't think about the fact that she was exposing skin to him. Then she sat down again.

"Don't know if there is much else to say about me."

He just sat there and listened as he finished off the rest of his food. He didn't say much, and controlled himself when he saw a hint of red underneath her shirt when she showed him her scarred flesh. "Damn Rubi, that's insane. I can't imagine what it feels like to not feel pain. Does that mean you can't feel anything at all? No pain? No... pleasure? Nothing?" He just shook his, muttering damn again. He purposely led the conversation away from computer coding.

Looking around the barn, he took in everything within sight. "When we got here, David pretty much took over the monastery from the monks here, and moved the Brotherhood in. Was a bit of a bad deal in my opinion, just hustling the monks like that. But everyone's afraid to say no to David." Coughing, he continued on. "When David took this place over and installed me in here, he told me to remove whatever I didn't need, and take what I wanted. Follow me." He got up from the table, and moved towards a storage area in the back. Opening up a door, you could see that he had taken this part of the barn for his personal quarters. A bunk, along with an end table, a stereo system with headset, a high end gaming PC, and more were along half the room. On the other half, was stuff covered in tarps and other detritus. He walked over to this part of his room.

"I found this among the items here. I was just gonna get rid of it, as I don't ride motorcycles anymore, but maybe you can fix it up." He pulls back a canvas tarp, and in dirty and barely serviceable condition, was a 1956 Harley Davidson HK 883. "So, this something you'd like?"

His questions about her condition weren't that strange. She had heard them several times before. Shaking her head she smiled.

"Just pain. I still feel pleasure, I can still feel the difference between hot and cold. But that is because I learned to tell the difference. Some touches feel a bit... numb. But they are still there. Like this."

She ran a finger over the skin of his hand, softly and gently.

"I barely feel that. And pain... It's more like a pressure, not really there."

Listening to what he had to say about David and when they got there she nodded and finished up her food. It didn't surprise her that no one said no to David, to anyone else, he had to be one damn scary man. When he asked her to follow him she grabbed her milkshake and then followed. Casting a quick glance around what had to be his own room of sorts before looking at the tarp. Sipping her milkshake all the way until he removed it.

Arching a brow impressed she gave him her milkshake and walked over. Crouching down as she whistled.

"Damn shame such a beauty have been sitting here all alone."

Checking some of the parts she mumbled a bit to herself before she grinned.

"Of course I can. I just need some spare parts... Shouldn't be too hard to come by though, and I can make do with some DIY and not 100% parts."

Rising back up she came over to him and took her milkshake back.

"I don't have a good place to work on her though... I got the tools, I use them on my baby. But my place in St Francis doesn't really have a garage."

When she explained how she felt things to him, the inquisitive part of him took over. So whilst she was looking over the bike, he couldn't help but reach out an run a finger along her exposed arm, and immediately looking up for a reaction. He'd do it again as a comparison for the experiment. Seeing no reaction, he just mutters, "Whoa." The skin also felt soft...

Snapping out of his moment, he heard the rest of what she said, he gestured to his quarters. "Well it's not going anywhere, so you're welcome to come work on it whenever you want. Got all the amenities of home. Small fridge, stereo system, working bathroom - even a real shower. Don't know why but the hot water tank is huge, a fifty gallon one. Which is good, I like hot showers." He chuckled, "Unless that is, you want to move her elsewhere. I can always get her hauled to wherever you want."

She barely noticed that he touched her skin, and it even took her a moment to really register it. She didn't bother to turn and look at him, it had felt more like a brush of air against her, than that of the touch of someone else.

The talk of the bike though, that she focused on.

Silly man, giving me an opening to come and hang around you. Brilliant.

Looking at him she smiled and thought about it for a moment. She couldn't say yes straight away, it had to seem like she was considering it. She wouldn't get far by seeming too eager.

"That's an excellent idea. If you don't mind me coming over here and working on it. Might be some noise from it, can you still work with me here? I won't be distracting you?"

Tilting her head to the side she smiled at him and laughed a bit.

"Nice, then I won't have to wait until I get home to get the motor oil out of my hair."
