It had been fun following him around for about a week and a half. Using Obfuscate to keep out of sight for the most time, before she little by little letting it slip. Letting him catch glimpses of her, there one minute and gone the next. Like a shadow in the peripheral, a flash of light caught on a strand of red in the wind, the sudden smell of heavy smoke; like incense, deep, dark mixed with sweet cherry. She wanted him to notice her, to know he was being followed. Curious to see how long until he spoke up, until his own curiosity compelled him to talk to her. So there she was now, hanging in the back of the room at the lounge at Crimson Lights.

Today she had not bothered hiding her presence at all. No Obfuscate had been used, and she was openly sitting at the bar with her eyes on him. A well-manicured hand was wrapped around a wine glass with a mixture of AB+ and just a splash of red wine for some spice to it. Her jacket still on over the dress as her eyes lazily looked around the room, taking in the dancers and the environment, before intelligent green eyes fell back on the blonde a few tables ahead. Shaking her head she blew a loose strand of red from the high ponytail on her head and fastened it behind her ear.

Opening her purse she fished out one of her strange looking black cigarettes. She lit it up and the space around her was filled with that spiced cherry smell. Smiling she inhaled the smoke and blew it back out his way.

Let the games begin! Hide and seek, say I to myself, and step. Out of the dream of wake, into the dream of sleep.

The nursery rhyme was concluded with a giggle that rang in her head, making Natania shake her head softly to get her focus back.

There she was again.

Not veiled in shadows this time, making herself vanish into her environment like a Nosferatu clinging to every shred of Obsfuscation, but sitting at the bar - in plain view. He could feel her eyes on him, drilling a hole in his back. They rarely ever left him, except to make brief eye contact with the bartender and the like.

While his peripheral vision could sometimes catch a glimpse of her stylish beige and black clothing, the vampire remained seated with his back to her, draped in a charcoal grey tweed jacket and a pair of faded Levi's with a sliver of a white shirt poking above the collar. In his left hand rested a shot glass of something red, though it appeared almost purple through the dark green glass. It sat there for a while now. Untouched. It would seem that his thirst had been sated for the time being - or perhaps he was merely sharpening it for the new arrival - her.

Been a while since he had a taste of Kindred vitae. First and last, most notable time belonged to his Sire. Well... hopefully not the last? Although he still preferred the sweet and sublime nectar of the Mortal kind, the thought of tasting another vampire was never too far from his mind.

The Toreador's nostrils widened, picking up the scent of something horrid. Cigarette smoke. The fuck was she indulging in those for? Playing at a human vice here, in a Kindred elysium? Supposedly she was not alone. He had often spied that sultry brunette co-owner of the club, Nandi Morgan - sporting a Cuban cigar every now and then. Disgusting. Gabriel had never developed a taste for it (smoking) and could never understand its appeal to any Kindred, save its occasional use for maintaining the Masquerade.

Turning to the bartender, he smiled a reserved smile of a gentleman about to do himself a favor.

"The best of the house (vitae) for the lady right over there, David..." he thumbed in Natania's direction without turning around, although his head did shift that way as his green-gray eyes met hers head on for the very first time. The woman's gaze was intense and alive, causing Gabriel's smile to fade. In the meantime, the bartender moved to slide the drink toward her and nodded. "Compliments of the gentleman over there," he said, then turned to wait on another patron who had waved him over.

For the first time since he sat down, Gabriel took up his shot glass and raised it to Natania, nodding.

"To your health, miss."

And down went the contents of his glass.

Meeting his gaze she smirked. Seemed like her target had noticed her. Shamelessly she watched as he got the attention of the bartender, ordering something no doubt. Seeing his smile fade she laughed softly and put out the cigarette, looking away for a moment.

Compliments of the gentleman over there

Turning to look at the bartender she could see the drink offered to her and arched her brow. An amused curl coming to her lips as she took the glass and turned to look at Gabriel once more. Seeing his raised glass and the bow of his head she lifted her glass back to him in greeting. It would seem that Gabriel was upping the game a bit. Making Natania smile.

"And to yours..."

Mimicking him she emptied the glass before putting it away. Her eyes not leaving him as she corrected her jacket and grabbed her purse. Throwing some money on the counter for the drinks she had had. Making it obvious she was preparing to leave the place. Like she was giving him every opportunity to follow her, the look of her eyes daring him as she closed her jacket and made her way through the crowd to the exit.

She didn't look over her shoulder again as she exited the place in a calm but determined manner. There was no rush, no worry in the way she moved, maybe just a tremor of excitement.

Coming outside she pulled her jacket closer around herself and followed down a trafficked road. Artificial light bathing the street she followed for a few minutes, before taking a left and following down a side street with less light and a dwindling mass of people. Taking a sudden right she steered right down a dark empty alley and stopped. Wondering if he was following her or not.

She would walk away, yes.

Predictable action, that. Gabriel knew he would be expected to follow if he ever wanted to learn more about this one. Was she worth his time? The Toreador slipped his hand into his vest pocket, removing a nubuck leather wallet. He left a fifty on the bar counter, waving a salute to the bartender. David nodded back with a smile, appreciating the gesture even if it was the same one, every week.

Flirty momma...
I'd like to undress you... be your fantasy.
Maybe you could be mine?

Rubi wouldn't approve, he thought. But then again, Rubi was not a vampire. What did she know about his needs and desires?

His steps quickened as Gabriel made no effort to hide the fact that he was following Natania down a trafficked road. The lights began to wane as he turned his momentum down a dimly lit street. Soon enough the alley became dark. Devoid of human presence, even. Gabriel smirked, knowing she had intended this - the mysterious Kindred, whoever she was. He traced a path to her and it took a blink of an eye. Celerity. It was a wonderful thing.

"We really need to stop meeting like this," he smiled, his hand lifting to cup her chin as if intent to study her features. In the dark.

It only took moments from she stopped and put her hands in her pocket to wait for him. Until he was standing in front of her. A smile curled over feline features and eyes fell to looking at the hand lifted close to her face.

"Why? Are you not having fun?"

She made no move to move away from him. Instead, piercing emerald eyes sparkled in the dark. Her face was relaxed as she looked at him, the look in her gaze is one of curiosity and deep thought as she memorized his features. Suddenly the corner of her lip twitched.

"I sure enjoyed following you around, always favoured a good game of hide and seek."

Arching her neck she licked her upper lip and pursed her mouth, still looking at him thoughtfully. But at least she looked pleased with what she saw.
He looks like him, more than you ever did.

She ignored the voice that always lingered in her mind, like an eternal commentary of her existence.

Gabriel regarded the woman coldly. She was a looker, that one. All nonchalant, hands in pockets. Not at all frightened while facing a vampire. And why should she be, being one of them?

"Is that what you call ...fun?"

He expected her to stand her ground and so she did. Green eyes met her own and flickered back and forth. There was something about that jawline that seemed oddly familiar? And yet, Gabriel was not about to ask for details. He envisioned pulling all those layers of clothing away from her sublime form... revealing the naked form of a Kindred. At the very least, he would have enjoyed the sight. Or was there more?

He traced his path to her, arm wrapping around her waist, another cradling her neck. "You talk too much."

Before she knew what was happening, he would find them both within the confines of a Mercedes Benz, E-class sedan.

"Of course I do. Why else would I do it?"

There was a standoff between them that she was enjoying. Eyes looking over the other, weighing the opportunities, judging each other. It made her look up past his eyes to his forehead before dropping down again. Like she wanted to look into his mind.

Feeling his arms wrap around her, there was the faintest hint of an arch to her eyebrow in surprise. She barely managed to pull her lips together to speak before he spoke and suddenly moved. A soft laughter rolled over her tongue, and she casually sat back in her seat in the car.

She cast a look around as she crossed her legs and loosened the jacket she had around herself.

"Impatient."

Eyes fell back on him as she turned herself towards him and offered him a delicate hand. A charming half smile on her lips.

"The name is Natania."

"Curious." He corrected her, placing subtle emphasis on the word.

Watching Natania offer him a small, slender hand, Gabriel pursed his lips and took it up, shaking it firmly.

"Gabriel."

He felt no need to keep his identity from a fellow Kindred. If she were Maledictus they wouldn't be talking still. And if she were Concordia, she would not be caught dead in the midst of Vindicta territory. So... who was she? Supposedly he could have the rest of the night to find that out. Hopefully.

"Where to? I assume you were on your way somewhere and it wasn't that dank alley... my driver will take us anywhere you wish."

Her hand held on to his for an extra moment as a knowing cat-like grin danced over her lips. She already knew his name, but it was fun to see that he was being honest. After all, the world was filled with liars.
"A pleasure to finally meet you, Gabriel."

She held on to his hand a moment longer before she dropped it and folded her hands in her lap. Her torso still turned so she could look at him. Following his question, she laughed.
"I had no destination in mind. Just exploring. I haven't been in town for long." Almond shaped slits sparkled in the dark. "I was hoping you would follow."

Taking a theatrical break she let her eyes wander over him for a moment before she chuckled softly, mostly at her own head.

He seems nice, honest maybe. Came a soft whisper Oh shut up no one cares what you think. You are unimportant. Hissed another

Damn whispers needed to take a break.

"You seem to be a good choice of a guide through the web of this town. What do you say to a drink? We could pick something up?"

Finally meet him?

"I am afraid you have me at a disadvantage, Natania. Although I can't say I regret meeting you - regardless of who you are. Just tell me you don't work for a bunch of Tremere in cheap black suits and we're good."

Didn't they just have drinks, both of them? Just how much vitae could that lithe little body of hers, hold? He looked her up and down, shaking his head with a lopsided grin. She weighed maybe 120 lbs, soaking wet. And that bulky coat probably added to her overall 'robust' look.

I bet you look much nicer without it...

"Oh, you're looking for a live meal, then?" he regarded Natania curiously when she mentioned picking something 'up'. "I'm not hungry myself, but even if I were, I'd still say it's ladies first - so your choice - make it as specific as you wish. But don't have me make the decisions or else I'll just take you somewhere we can both get comfortable? Unless you'd rather go dancing," Gabriel appraised her outfit again, critically, wondering if she could actually move in that tight dress of hers. "And if you need to change, my place is not too far from here - I have closets full of designer clothing, enough to satisfy even the most discriminating eye," he winked.

A rolling laughter reminiscent of bells went through her at the mention of Tremere. She didn't reply at once though. Just looked at him with those sparkly green orbs of hers for a moment before shaking her head.

"Don't worry. It's been quite some time since I took the company of Tremere."

It wasn't hard to see that he was sizing her up. Probably wondering about the secrets her clothes held. Or if he was a little clever, he was trying to figure out more about her. After all, he had said it himself, she had him at a disadvantage. Natania's mind churned, ignoring the whispers of her mind and focusing on Gabriel's voice instead. A disappointed pout settling on her lips when he mentioned not being hungry.

"Aren't we all? The live ones are much more fun anyway. Oh well, another time then."

Squirming like a pleased kitten in the seat she laughed again. Softly like a whisper. Her hands brushing over her jacket opening it to show off more of her outfit.

"Dancing and designer clothes. I bet you make all the ladies' knees weak." She flashed him a playful smile before turning her body so she could run the tip of her shoe up his leg, to his knee. "Sadly I am not in a mood for dancing... So I think, getting comfortable sounds like an excellent choice."

"So, where are you from, Natania - and I don't mean the UK - that is quite obvious from the accent, but where in the UK, specifically? I was born there, so I am naturally curious. Especially now that I have met such an enchanting countrywoman," he grinned, taking up her hand carelessly and turning it over and up again in his palm. She had a youthful appearance, with flawless skin and a thick, luxurious mane of fiery red hair which rendered her instantly attractive if not stunning. By now, she was probably wondering why he wasn't trying to learn more about her.

All good things come to those who wait, my dear... and neither of us is going anywhere, time-wise. We are eternal. I don't mind taking the next century or two, getting to know you...

He regarded her outfit with muted approval. "You have some taste in picking out clothes but you don't strike me as someone oriented in the fashion industry. What is it that you do, with your unlife?" Tapping the console mounted in the center of the floor, he removed two vials filled with crimson liquid and two shot glasses. Filling them both, he handed one to Natania. "To sate your hunger, albeit temporarily, of course."

The comment about making ladies' knees week was met with a smirk but no followup comment. Once they would reach a pause in the conversation, Gabriel would tell the driver to take them to the Buckingham Villa - watching his companion's face when he spoke, to see if anything he said would have any effect on her behavior.

A wry smirk decorated Natania's soft features. Sharp green eyes watching as Gabriel took her hand and turned it in his hand.

"Be careful with making assumptions. Anything can be faked..."

Her voice now having a clear French accent to it, making her sound almost native to the country. A burst of amused laughter followed before she dropped the accent.

"I was born in Kerry, but I spent most of my childhood accompanying my father at the court. He was a knight in the service of the King. But at a young age, I was married to a French Knight and lived out my human life there. So one can say that I am from a little all over the place."

Obviously, Natania was testing him. Trying to see how easily she could lie to him, and if he caught the lie if he would call her out on it. The complement of her clothes made her bow her head in gratitude before she gave him a moment to address his driver. There was no hint of recognition when he mentioned where he wanted the driver to take them. Just a pleased smile as she took the drink from him.

"As for what I do... I am a psychiatric night nurse. I work at several of the different facilities in this town. Easy source of food when I need it..."

Sipping her drink she never moved her eyes from him. Lying one on one. The target would easier catch what was a lie and what was not if she kept eye contact with him.

Let's play a game pretty boy... It's called one lie and two truths. I wanna see how arrogant you are...

Was she for real? Not the first Kindred trying to pull his strings and not the last - but this one took the cake - with her alluring accents and chime-like laughter. Almost as if it was all orchestrated for his pleasure, to draw him in, like a moth to a flame.

"But making assumptions can be almost as fun as guessing - and with a proper hint of tease, can get me into interesting places. Kerry, you say? Wow, you have been around. Which king was this, hopefully not Henry the Sixth, my dear - he was notoriously pious, I hear."

Gabriel nearly chuckled at the rhyme he made without thinking about it. Oh well, humor would be necessary to keep this one's insatiable curiosity at bay. And now she wanted to play a game? "Sure, I would be up for whatever enterprise you have in mind, as long as it is fun - I am not really in the mood for anything too serious, my dear."

Psychiatric night nurse. my ass. More like psychotic night nurse. And she moves around, typical. Easier to cover her bloody tracks, that way - not ingenious but still clever enough for him to take notice. Anyone new he met that turned out to be 'not stupid' - was a bonus in itself, the Toreador thought.

"So who shall begin this... question auction? Shall we have the lady go first? After all, I am not all arrogant - and can be charming - if properly inspired."

A knowing smile was all the reply he got to his question as to what king her father had served. Her elbow came to rest on the edge of the window, and her head soon fell to rest on her closed fist. Still with that knowing smile. It pleased her that he wanted to play a game with her making her smile widen a bit more before she replied.

"Good. Games can often show more about ourselves than what we think. This one... It will tell us how easily the other one can lie..."

Moving her eyes from him she looked out the window as she began explaining the rules of the game.

"I will go first then, see if I can inspire you... The point is to tell one lie, and two things that are the truth. Instead of the usual two lies and one truth. The point here is to catch the lie, and not what is the truth. Got it?"

Taking a moment to find her truths and lie she kept looking out at the passing city outside the window before she turned and found his eyes.

"I do not know for certain who my father is. Rumours say my mother had an affair with an Austrian merchant. When she was travelling with my father on one of his missions for the King."

Arching a brow she smirked, excited to see if he could catch the lie.

Natania certainly loved to talk. Or rather, hear herself speak. She went on and on, as if chattering with him gave her true pleasure. All the blood in the world woud not have Gabriel believe it. Oh, oh - she was about to 'inspire' him! That nearly made him rise up in the seat, as if signifying that he took notice of her taunt. Alluring little minx. He could not help but wonder if she talked this much in bed--

I do not know for certain who my father is. Rumours say my mother had an affair with an Austrian merchant. When she was travelling with my father on one of his missions for the King.

Thinking for a moment, Gabriel tilted his handsome head and smirked. "I choose the bit about the Austrian merchant." He continued to regard Natania with a playful glance, awaiting her judgment call.

She had no issue giving him some time to think it through. She didn't think that he would have much trouble seeing through her first attempt. After all, she had gone easy on him. Call it a test round. Which soon yielded results, making her smirk pleased and even give him slow applause.

"Very good Mr.Villiers. I guess that makes it your turn next."

Curious as to how far they had gotten towards his estate she threw a glance out the window while giving him some time to gather his thoughts. After a moment or two, she turned back, giving him an encouraging smile. She couldn't wait to see what he would come up with. Not that she was very worried that he would be able to trick her. After all, she had him at a disadvantage. Already knowing more about him then he did her.

Amazing... what a lucky guess!

Gabriel's grin widened in appreciation of her answer. The mock applause on Natania's part was unnecessary, but the Toreador played along, offering a playful half-bow from his seated position. Now that they had both 'entertained' one another, it was his turn to come up with something equally banal.

"Yes, indeed - my turn."

Looking briefly out the window, he realized they were almost at the villa, give or take a couple of minutes. Swiveling his head back to his guest, the Vampire smiled wryly.

"I am a businessman and an artist, although I did see some soldiering abroad - in the past. During one of my trips to France I met an enchanting creature there who reminds me a lot - of you. She taught me some intriguing French graces, although we parted ways all too quickly, much to my disappointment."

Waiting for a challenge dark emeralds glimmered in the passing streets lights. She didn't mind giving him a moment to think, after all, patience was something she had more than enough of. When he finally came up with something she smirked and her eyes narrowed slightly. Pretending to think she tapped her lip with a finger before she replied.

"The part about me reminding you of her. I highly doubt you have met anyone like me."

It was said in a simple tone, matter of factly. But her eyes and her grin showed that she took great pride in being herself and seeing herself as pretty unique.

"Though if you have... I am rather impressed, must have been one hell of a woman."

Glancing out the window she could see that they had driven up to the villa. He didn't know it, but she had been here before. Obfuscate was a nice little trick when she wanted to take a look around unnoticed.

"Looks like my turn will have to wait, as I believe we have arrived. Unless we are making a pit stop first?"

Putting her purse under her arm she looked to him to see if they were going to exit the car or not.

"I'm afraid you're wrong, sweetheart," Gabriel intoned smoothly after making her wait for nearly a minute. Not that the time spent would have bothered her, a fellow Kindred. "We did not part ways for over a century. She was my lover, my maker, my soulmate... for a time. And yes, it is time to disembark, I believe."

Having unlocked the door and prying it open, he walked around the car to open Natania's side for her. "Mademoiselle, if you would humor me and take my arm? I will escort you inside where - pending your will, we can resume the game - or play another, if you want." Gabriel wanted to make it clear that he was amicable either way.

Women were such finicky creatures - they changed their mind often enough to give even a Kindred, a solid whiplash - for a time.
